A recent post room audit at Pannone LLP, a Manchester-based full service law firm with over 380 specialist solicitors, revealed that a significant volume of their business mail was being sent by Royal Mail rather than DX, leading to higher costs and delivery delays

As a result, Pannone submitted their correspondence database to AFD Software for DX address book cleansing, a simple process that paid impressive dividends.

“The DX address book cleansing service has identified every record that can be routed through DX. As a result, we have now doubled the number of DX addresses in our system. Significantly there has been a 72% increase in DX addresses for live matters – so the savings are real” explained David Griffiths, IT Director at Pannone.

In fact Pannone estimates that with this updated DX addressing data, they will benefit from additional annual savings of over £30,000, through increased use of the DX Document Exchange service.

“The DX address cleanse also flagged over 10% of existing DX records which had out of date or incorrectly entered DX details. This will significantly reduce an important area of data decay risk which could have delayed or disrupted the delivery of vital documents” added Mr Griffiths.

Griffiths, who also recognizes the value of the DX service to law firms, added: “With DX we receive time-critical documents earlier and we can send them later in the day. This creates valuable additional working time and relieves pressure on our fee-earners.”
