DX Group - the UK & Ireland’s leading independent logistics network provider – has launched a unique service that will enable customers of its Document Exchange service to enjoy significant cost and service benefits on their second class postcoded mail.
With its new Managed Mail service DX will collect postcoded mail after 5pm, process it swiftly through its nationwide network, and pass it on to the Royal Mail for final mile delivery, with a 3 working day delivery and savings of between 9% and 19% on 2nd class Royal Mail franking prices.
Whilst there are several other providers of ‘downstream access services’, DX Managed Mail offers unique advantages. Using its network of 4,500 collection points (known as Exchanges), the service enables customers to post items up until 5pm, significantly extending the working day. Furthermore, thanks to its investment in sortation technology, the company will be looking to convert postcode-addressed items into its pre-9am next day Document Exchange network wherever appropriate –meaning that its customers will enjoy the benefit of a faster service for more of their mail.
Trials conducted by DX have also shown that the service can save significant amounts of time in a company post-room because there is no need to individually frank the mail.
The Managed Mail service will be open to all 25,000 DX Members who already use the DX Document Exchange service – a first class business to business mail service with pre-9am delivery and collections after 5pm.
DX is able to provide the managed mail option cost-effectively because of the consolidated collection and delivery processes used to operate the DX Exchange service.
Paul Doble, Group Sales & Marketing Director, said: “Many of our Customers would like to use a private mail service for their second class mail in order to save money on franked prices, but if they have only a few hundred items of this post per day the cost of collection is usually prohibitive.
Our new business model, which allows our Document Exchange Members to use their Exchange for a collection point for their second class post up until 5pm, is unique and we are convinced that its time and money saving benefits will make it very attractive.”
